First day of “Innovation and entrepreneurship” training in Heimerer College

Heimerer College and the Institute of Southeast Europe for Health and Social Policy in the framework of SMAHPC Project began the two-day training on innovation and entrepreneurship today.

Professors Panu Karhinen from Metropolia University in Finland and Janne Laitinen from the University of Applied Sciences, Jamk in Finland, were invited as international trainers for the first session of today. The pertinent topics included: Basic understanding of concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as Intrapreneurship vs. Entrepreneurship.
The Innovation Process: The Key Stages and Their Importance in the Development of Ideas was discussed by local trainers Erza Selmani and Suhida Dermani.
The final session was crucial, and we had the privilege of hearing Mr. Oscar Romero, Executive Director of the Office of Information at the Commission on Civic Engagement, Office of the Mayor of New York City (NYC), speak. Mr. Romero provided insight into the process of incorporating innovation from both a national and local policy perspective.

All participants in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship training were equipped with a Certificate of Participation.
